RUSTREL

Visit provencal colorado

Visit provencal colorado, at 90 minutes from Le Clos Geraldy, charming guest house at St Maximin la Ste Baume is a wonder.

Visit Colorado Provencal is driving to the Luberon, to Rustrel.

This village is nestled on the hillside and leans against the Albion plateau.

There is a beautiful 17th century castle. Its cliffs are so called because they are ocher in color. It is a magical and unique place. Dug in the ocher deposits of the Pays d’Apt, it is a succession of open-pit mines.

They are now fitted out for walking. There are several shades, about 20, eroded and fairy chimneys.

This chaotic landscape is the result of erosion on the crumbly orange and yellow ocher that makes up the soil.

Also you can walk around there, after putting your vehicle in the parking lot, and go from surprise to surprise, from color to color.

If this tempts you, you can also go a few kilometers away and visit Roussillon and its ocher quarries.

Slightly different but just as magical. The colors that you will come across are amazing and will allow you to make great shots or video.

For both sites, we recommend that you go either in the early morning or at the end of the day, both to avoid overcrowding and for better light.
